OUR HOSPITAL Our desire is to have Little River Healthcare System become one of Texas’ premier rural health systems. Little River currently includes one hospital, four medical clinics, a sleep wellness center and imaging center. Richards Memorial Hospital is a Level IV Trauma Critical Access Hospital dedicated to the overall health and well-being of the communities it serves. We offer numerous services and specialties including a Family Care Center, Emergency Care, Cath Lab, Cardiology Care, ENT, Gastroenterology, General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Lab Services, Rehabilitation Care, Orthopedics, Pain Management, Pulmonology Care, Radiology Care, Sleep Wellness Center, Social Services, Spinal Orthopedics, Skilled Nursing, TX Health Steps, Urology, Ultrasound, CT Imaging, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Dermatology, Nephrology, Gynecology, Pediatric Care, Rheumatology and Oncology. OUR COMMUNITY The city is investing heavily in infrastructure and zoning, with a new waste-water treatment plant under construction and zoning improvements adopted. TXU is investing $900 million in a new, 545-megawatt power plant just south of town and Wal-Mart, which upgraded its store to a Super Center, has reported a doubling of sales in the past year. The mission of Rockdale Independent School District is to provide a quality education reflecting the support of community resources. Over 1,800 students attend Rockdale ISD each year and the district has a student to teacher ratio of 15.2 to 1 with 58% of the teachers at Rockdale ISD having 10 years or more of teaching experience.
