Community Health Fair, Open House a Huge Success
Mangum, Oklahoma (October 13, 2009) – Approximately 100 people came to the newly named Quartz Mountain Medical Center (formerly Mangum Community Hospital) on Saturday October 10th for a fun, educational event.
The days’ events featured tours of Quartz Mountain Medical Center, showcasing recent renovations and new service lines. Community members took advantage of numerous free health screenings including blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol and body mass index screenings. Local entertainment was provided throughout the day, as well as games for the kids.
“We were so pleased to be able to offer this health fair and open house to our community members. Many people are not aware of our new service lines, technology and renovations. This event gave us the opportunity to show these to the community. As we continue to grow and expand the service lines we offer, our goal is to also reach not only Mangum, but the surrounding communities. We believe the change of our hospital’s name to Quartz Mountain Medical Center will enable us in our efforts to reach out to both Mangum and the surrounding communities ” explains Jan Winter, Quartz Mountain Healthcare System CEO.
