Advanced Pediatric Training at LRHS Benefits Milam and Surrounding Counties Rockdale, Texas (October 28, 2008) Little River Healthcare System team members recently had the opportunity to participate in an ACLS, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support training class. In addition to the advanced cardiovascular training, LRHS team members participated in PALS, Pediatric Advanced Life Support training. The American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support course has recently been redesigned with a new teaching methodology. The goal of the PALS course is to aid the pediatric healthcare provider in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently and effectively manage critically ill infants and children, resulting in improved outcomes. The skills taught in this course are specific to infant and children in order to improve quality of care for this age group. The course includes active, hands-on participation by healthcare providers. “Continued education and advanced training for our staff is a priority at LRHS. We are pleased to offer training such as the ACLS and PALS courses in our efforts to provide excellent healthcare to Milam and surrounding counties.” stated Jeremy Riney, Little River Healthcare System CEO.
