On Saturday, February 28th, Blackhawk Cares volunteers gathered in Taylor, Texas to help with a Habitat for Humanity project. The house they worked on is being built for Jason and Valynda Rameriz and their 6 children.
Jason and Valynda are long time Taylor residents and have volunteered over 450 hours for Habitat for Humanity! Anyone who is selected to have a house built must volunteer 450 hours or more with Habitat for Humanity to be eligible.
The Rameriz house is going to be 4 bedrooms that according to Habitat for Humanity will take about 2,200 volunteer hours to complete. This is only the second Habitat for Humanity home in Taylor, Texas and is projected for completion in May 2009.

“We are proud to have been a small part of helping this family build their future. The day was filled with fun, laughter and hard work, but it was all worth it.” said Brenda Tillman, Blackhawk Cares volunteer. |
